ABMS Advisory Body on Specialty Board Development Invites Third-party Comments

The American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) recently opened a public comment period on an application from the American Board of Cardiovascular Medicine. Tasked with evaluating applications for approval of new specialty boards for membership in the organization, the ABMS Advisory Body on Specialty Board Development is accepting comments on the application through July 24, 2024. ABMS noted in its call for action that comments will be accepted from groups including existing Member Boards; ABMS Associate Members; specialty and state medical societies; patient and consumer advocacy groups; hospitals and health systems; insurers; and the public.
