Nurses on Boards Coalition Celebrates Decade of Impact With Free Microlearning

AANA News Release (06/12/24)

The Nurses on Board Coalition (NOBC) first convened in 2014 with the goal of increasing the number of nurse leaders in key decision-making roles on boards and commissions that serve to improve Americans' health. More than 10,000 nurse leaders have joined boards through NOBC's work. The American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology is a founding member of NOBC. In recognition of 10 years of meaningful outcomes resulting from their partnership, Jana Bailey, APRN, CRNA, who is AANA's representative on the NOBC Board of Directors, developed the "Nurses on Boards Preparation Microlearning Program for CRNAs" for her Doctor of Nursing Practice project intervention. The free program has received prior AANA approval for 0.75 Class A CE credit. "CRNAs are poised to serve on boards, not just healthcare boards, but any board where we have a passion or interest," Bailey said. She explained the "program provides the crucial Nurses on Boards Preparation content, in short video snippets to let CRNAs quickly gain needed information for charting their path to board service now or later."
