CME Coalition: Independent Medical Education Compliance Guide

The CME Coalition recently released an updated Independent Medical Education (IME) Compliance Guide for use by accredited continuing medical education providers and commercial supporters. The group produced the guide and accompanying FAQs in response to queries concerning Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education Standards for Integrity and Independence in Accredited Continuing Education, and best practices for providers and the industry to bear in mind for non-accredited educational activities. Among the topics covered in the guide are entities and corporate structures, the grant review process, faculty, author, and speaker selection, letters of agreement, and materials distribution.
