The survey of 1,516 U.S. adults revealed that most consumers view board-certified doctors as offering superior care and expertise, with 98% expecting physicians to stay current with medical advances for their specialty, 95% expecting ongoing education and testing, and 93% supporting requirements for doctors to demonstrate continued competency in their specialty. Additionally, most respondents (90%) said that physicians need regular, in-depth knowledge testing in their specialty, not just continuing medical education credits.
