French President Emmanuel Macron and World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus recently broke ground on the new WHO Academy campus in Lyon, France. "The ambitions of the WHO Academy are not modest: to transform lifelong learning in health globally," said Tedros. "The COVID-19 pandemic is a powerful demonstration of the value of health workers and why they need the most up-to-date information, competencies and tools to keep their communities healthy and safe."

The Continuing Medical Education (CME) Coalition sent letters of endorsement to lawmakers backing CME-supportive legislation proposed in Congress this year.

California has enacted Assembly Bill 359 to extend the definition of continuing medical education (CME) to practice management education, in line with other state and national guidelines. The previous law required applicants for a physician's and surgeon's certificate to pass all parts of Step 3 of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination in four or fewer attempts.
