In today’s CME/CPD environment, transparency and independence remain the foundation of all documentation and disclosure practices — especially when it comes to in-kind commercial support.

The federal policy environment is undergoing a rapid and consequential shift, with direct implications for continuing medical education (CME).

Although developments in cancer immunotherapy (immuno-oncology or I-O) continue to improve targeted treatments for patients with cancers such as melanoma and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), there is an ongoing need for education that improves the measurement of pathological response to treatment and promotes best practices in utilizing biomarker testing to help inform the treatment selection.

This article examines the outcomes of our experiment, offering valuable insights for both grant applicants and industry supporters. By sharing our successes, challenges and lessons learned, we hope to contribute to the ongoing improvement of medical education and healthcare optimization.
