Rockpointe CME Accredited Webcourse Prepares Advanced Practice Providers for NMT-LD Diagnosis and Care
The Potomac Center for Medical Education and Rockpointe have launched a free online continuing medical education/continuing education (CME/CE) course covering nontuberculous mycobacteria lung disease (NTM-LD) diagnosis and treatment. Nontuberculous Mycobacteria Lung Disease: Management Strategies for Advanced Practice Providers closes gaps in NTM-LD care-related knowledge, skills and attitudes by reviewing current evidence-based criteria for diagnosis and therapy recommendations. The course is designed for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. The program is CME-, American Association of Nurse Practitioners-, and American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA)-certified and qualifies participants for an hour of credit, including 0.50 AAPA hours of pharmacology. Enrollees who complete the course should be able to identify NTM-LD patient risk factors; interpret testing results for diagnosing NTM-LD and communicate with patients about diagnoses; deploy evidence-based strategies for managing and monitoring treatment-related side effects; and educate patients undergoing NTM treatment about selected treatments, related side effects, monitoring strategies and treatment compliance.
