PANRE-LA Approved for AAPA Category 1 Self-Assessment CME Credit

The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) has approved the Physician Assistant National Recertifying Exam Longitudinal Assessment (PANRE-LA) for Category 1 Self-Assessment continuing medical education (CME) credit. PANRE-LA, which the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) approved in November, is a permanent alternative to the PANRE option. Participating PAs will earn two CME credits for each quarter in which they complete the 25 PANRE-LA questions, starting in 2023. NCCPA will tweak the credit awarded using a 5% bonus for activities cleared for Category 1 Self-Assessment CME credits, which only applies to fulfilling NCCPA CME requirements.
