Nursing Management of the Critical Thinking and Care Quality of ICU Nurses: A Cross-Sectional Study

A cross-sectional study involving 212 participants investigated how a digital learning management system with structured classes enhances intensive care unit (ICU) nurses' critical care knowledge and critical thinking skills. Participants showed significant improvement in these areas following the system's implementation. High-level nurses achieved higher critical thinking scores, and all learners linked critical care knowledge to improved quality of care. "Optimizing nursing care safety and quality requires that nursing staff to be at an adequate level, which improves their critical care ability," the researchers note. The findings indicate that a well-designed digital learning management system with structured classes is suitable for continuing education. "These results are of interest to nursing management staff who want to invest in the continued professional development of intensive care unit nurses to improve critical care knowledge, critical thinking skills, care quality and healthcare value," the authors conclude.
