At-Home Testing Now Offered for Certification Exam

Continuing education professionals intending to take the certification exam may now take the exam in the comfort of their own home. The Alliance has taken this new and innovative step to meet your needs! Some reluctance has been expressed to test at designated testing sites across the United States. Testing sites are complying with CDC COVID guidelines, and test takers may register to take the exam at one of over 200 test sites. But now, another option is available — you may take the exam in your own home on your own computer.

The security details of at-home testing have taken some time to work out. The Alliance Certification Commission is now satisfied that measures are in place to protect the integrity of the exam. All test takers are remotely proctored during the exam. The exam is not now, nor has it ever been, an open-book test. Therefore, whether the test taker is at an approved testing site or in their own home, the exam is to be taken without the benefit of written or online notes, resources or study guides. The at-home proctored test taker will meet exactly the same security standards as a test taker at a secure approved location.
